Dacia Gallery is a distinguished contemporary art gallery presenting museum-quality solo and group exhibitions by both established and emerging artists, situated in Manhattan’s East Village. Since 2010, the gallery has cultivated a reputation for excellence, attracting discerning collectors and art connoisseurs through a rigorously curated program of representational, landscape, and abstract works. Exhibited artists have included Noah Buchanan, Patricia Watwood, Leah Yerpe, Max Ginsburg, Christopher Pugliese, Erin Anderson, Nikolina Kovalenko and Daniel Maidman. Dacia Gallery is defined by an artist-first philosophy and a refined yet unconventional vision of the contemporary gallery. Working in close partnership with its artists, Dacia fosters an intimate, cultivated community grounded in collaboration and mutual success. Exhibiting artists are integral to the gallery experience and are present at opening receptions, offering artist talks and personal engagement with collectors and guests. As noted by The Epoch Times, Dacia Gallery is “a gallery where artists are the first priority,” delivering an experience that is both exclusive and deeply personal.
Lee Vasu is an artist, curator, and the founder of Dacia Gallery in New York City. Born in Sibiu, Romania in 1979, his early artistic sensibility was shaped by the mosaics, frescoes, and mystical iconography of Byzantine churches in his native region. In 1990, Vasu immigrated to the United States with his family, where he continued his artistic education and development. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Art from Kent State University, followed by a Master’s degree in Arts Administration and Museum Science from the University of Akron, laying the foundation for his curatorial vision. Vasu has represented both Romania and the United States at the European House of Arts and presented his first solo exhibition at the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Bucharest. His work has since been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions across France, Germany, Slovenia, Romania, and the United States, and is held in a wide range of public and private collections. Driven by a lifelong dedication to the arts and international exhibition practice, Vasu has curated exhibitions both nationally and abroad—an experience that ultimately led to the founding of Dacia Gallery in New York City in 2010.
